The Marine  Hotel in Hermanus continues its current series of gastronomic dinner events in collaboration with Hemel en Aarde wineries, featuring the wines of Newton Johnson Family Vineyards on Friday, the 2nd of August 2024. Bevan Newton Johnson will be co-hosting the event, joining forces with Head Chef Oelof Vorster to present a multi-course food and wine pairing menu in The Origins Restaurant.

On arrival, the welcome drink of Albariño 2022 will be served with delicious canapés of homemade brioche with caviar; and truffled beef fillet tartar. Dinner starts with two courses of hors d’oeuvres comprising of a grilled King oyster mushroom paired with The Family Vineyards Pinot Noir 2022; and roasted pork tenderloin enjoyed with a glass of The Family Vineyards Chardonnay 2022. Confit lamb neck will lead the main course, perfectly paired with The Family Vineyards Falkrik Grenache 2021, a wine that features voluptuous scents of black cherry and mulberry, bolstered by sweet spices and nuances of dried fynbos and fennel.  Dessert will be a frozen souffle with orange curd, as a match made in heaven with the L’illa Noble Late Harvest Chenin Blanc 2015.
