The next chapter of Brookdale Estate’s Cinderella tale takes its shape in The Bistro and the Tasting Room found at our newly established cellar.
Found on gentle slopes in our furthest corner of vineyards, The Bistro gazes out across a sea of new vines and the mountainous landscape of our valley. With no other buildings or people in sight, it seems as though you are a world away. Here, in this pastoral paradise, menus will move to nature’s rhythms under the culinary wisdom of Executive Chef, Gary Coetzee.

As the cooler months approach, The Bistro at Brookdale Estate in the Paarl Winelands is reigniting its popular Thursday Fire & Wine evenings, starting from this week (15 May 2025). This laid-back midweek, early-dinner experience is built around one simple yet flavourful grilled dish, paired with a complimentary glass of Mason Road wine.
Guests are invited to enjoy the warm ambiance around the central fireplace while sipping a glass of Brookdale Mason Road’s bold Shiraz, the vibrant GSM red blend (Grenache, Syrah, Cinsault, and Petit Syrah), the crisp Chenin Blanc, or the refreshing Serendipity Rosé, while Chef Gary Coetzee works his magic at the grill.
The menu showcases the finest locally sourced ingredients, always providing a vegetarian option too. Each Thursday features a different theme, beginning on 15 May with Grilled Prawns (available in portions of 6, 12, or 18), followed on 22 May with Curry Night for Two, with a choice between Tandoori Lamb Rump or Butter Chicken, while other upcoming themes include Steak Night or Burgers & Chips. Sides and desserts are available as optional add-ons.
For those looking to indulge a little further and stay over after dinner, luxury accommodation is available in the Manor House. Take advantage of the Hibernation Bed & Breakfast rate of R8400 per room, per night, valid until 15 August 2025, which includes the complimentary Fire & Wine dinner for guests booking on Thursday nights (subject to availability; excludes extras, additional drinks, and service). -
Guests can order their own cakes for special occasions directly from us.
Our pastry chef, Marinèsha, is able to bake according to guest’s requests – be it tarts, cupcakes, etc.All planning and discussion of payments and collection, etc, can be done directly with Chef Marinésha: bistro@brookdale-estate.com or 087 183 3919.
