Winter may still be underway, but the wildflowers around Riebeek-Kasteel are already in full bloom, bringing vibrant colour to the Swartland landscape. The Royal Hotel provides a convenient base for visitors looking to explore the seasonal display before returning to the comfort of the hotel.

The hotel is also expanding its accommodation offering with nine new suites, comprising eight Queen Suites and one Royal Suite, together with a new infinity pool. The new spaces are currently under development and are expected to add a further dimension to the Royal Hotel experience when completed.

At the hotel’s Au Bouchon Rouge Brasserie, Chef Julien Debray and his team are celebrating recognition as one of Eat Out’s Neighbourhood Gems for 2026. The restaurant brings French cuisine to the Swartland and forms part of the Royal Hotel’s broader dining offering.

For something truly unique in the Swartland, guests can experience the Kamar Biru Indonesian Rijsttafel at The Royal Hotel. The generous sharing-style experience brings together an abundant selection of authentic Indonesian dishes, beautifully presented and designed to be enjoyed at a leisurely pace. Distinctive, generous and full of flavour, the experience has also received the seal of approval from the Indonesian Consulate.

With wildflower season underway, new accommodation and leisure facilities on the horizon, and a growing reputation for distinctive dining, The Royal Hotel continues to position itself as a destination for exploring Riebeek-Kasteel and the wider Swartland.
