Entries have officially opened for the 2026 Diners Club SA Winelist Awards. Licensed restaurants throughout South Africa have until 5 June 2026 to submit their entries.

The Diners Club Winelist Awards, which have celebrated the country’s finest wine lists for over three decades, have become a benchmark for excellence. Highly regarded by both the restaurant and wine industries, these prestigious annual awards recognise and reward establishments that continually elevate the quality of their wine offerings. Each year, they present restaurants with a valuable opportunity to showcase expertly assembled wine lists, gain industry recognition, enhance their prestige, and attract discerning diners.

The panel of judges, comprising a unique mix of leading talents and voices in the wine, food, and hospitality industries, is dedicated to ensuring every participating restaurant receives a fair opportunity to compete for one of the industry’s most sought-after accolades, ranging from Silver to Gold, Platinum, Diamond, and the premium Icon category. Introduced in 2018, the Icon Award is reserved for restaurants that not only meet the criteria for a Diamond List but also demonstrate an exceptional international wine offering, impressive wines across multiple categories, a distinguished reserve or vintage selection, and a deep interest in wine curation, supported by a dedicated full-time sommelier. These wine lists carry true international stature and represent the pinnacle of wine presentation.

The results of the 2026 Diners Club Winelist Awards will be announced in August 2026 and published on the Diners Club website and nationally in the media.
