Set around a statuesque Wild Fig Tree on Hooggelegen Farm in Durbanville, Wilde Vy Bistro offers a dining experience that’s fresh, flavourful and memorable.
Our menu caters to diverse tastes; featuring Small Plates, Sharing Plates, Raw selections, Fire Grill favourites, Vegetarian options and Desserts.
We serve lunch and dinner from Tuesday to Saturday, brunch on Saturday and Sunday between 10am - 12pm (noon) as well as a Chef’s Sunday Roast select menu.
Find us on the picturesque Durbanville Wine Route at the home of Signal Gun Wines, just a 20-minute drive from Cape Town.
Who's Cooking?

Chef Jürgen Snyman
With over 25 years of hospitality and management experience, Chef Snyman is a highly experienced and respected executive chef and restaurant manager. He most recently led the Kloof Street House, Asoka, and Egghead restaurants. He brings an extensive background in fine and casual dining hospitality both locally in South Africa and abroad in New Zealand. Chef Jürgen was responsible for designing and executing all restaurant menus and has an excellent record of driving sales growth.
Chef Snyman has decades of experience implementing all SOP and management systems in restaurant establishments, collaborating with esteemed chefs and food critics in the hospitality industry. Chef Snyman is an excellent people leader, has spearheaded FOH operations, and trained and mentored staff to enhance customer satisfaction, evidenced by the wonderful reviews at the restaurants he has led.
As a chef and manager, he has successfully launched and operated multiple restaurants, consistently exceeding revenue targets and improving profitability. He has built and maintained strong relationships with suppliers, staff, and customers. As a leader in his field, he brings passion, creativity, and strategic thinking to the table, driving the restaurant's success and inspiring the kitchen staff and front of house to excel.

Join us every Tuesday evening as Wilde Vy Bistro comes alive with the smooth, soulful sounds of live jazz. From 7pm to 9pm, multi-instrumentalist Tefo Mahola and his quartet set the tone, weaving together jazz, groove, funk, jazz-rock and neo-soul for an effortlessly stylish night out.
No cover charge, just great vibes, beautifully plated dishes from our versatile à la carte menu paired with our African take on classic cocktails and fine range of local estate wines. Tucked beneath Wilde Vy Bistro, our new Private Cellar dining room offers a refined space for memorable gatherings. This stylish subterranean salon-style room centres around a long table for up to 16 guests, designed for celebrations, intimate corporate dinners and special occasions that call for something a little more private.
Chef Jürgen Snyman curates signature menus for the table, each course thoughtfully paired with premium wines from the Durbanville Wine Route. Expect a considered selection of potstill brandies, gins and whiskies to round out the experience, making the cellar an ideal setting for long lunches, milestone dinners and evenings that unfold at an unhurried pace.

We’ll be trading as normal over the Easter holidays, as well as the upcoming long weekends in April and into May.
Our à la carte menu ensures there’s something for everyone – from tasty Happies (appetisers) to seasonal salads, to signature dishes from the land and the sea – not forgetting Chef Jürgen’s delicious desserts.
