As we weather winter, it’s time to kick into gear and make Mandela Day plans as our tickets are now on sale. This year our new format ‘Hands-On Events’ are designed to provide the ideal platforms for volunteers to spend 67-minutes to nurture future leaders.
Our mission is that 20,000 preschool children in our Nourish Our Children programme, together with their principals and teachers will be the beneficiaries of our 2026 Ladles of Love Mandela Day events. We have spent the past year developing early childhood development items for volunteers to actively hand-make, which will grow small children in need.
Whether you’re a large corporate group or a gathering of family and friends, this year we cater to everyone at our flagship Ladles of Love Mandela Day Hands-On Events, and the good news is - you can ‘Create Your Own’ Events. International Nelson Mandela Day, 18 July 2026, falls over a weekend, this is why we are spreading events throughout July to provide more opportunities to become a ‘Hands-On Hero’.
Friday 17 July: DHL Stadium, Cape Town
Wednesday 22 July: EXPO Centre Johannesburg, NASREC
17 – 31 July: Create Your Own Event, anywhere in South Africa
Each person receives a ‘Hands-On Hero’ kit" with a how-to-guides’ to make, create, craft or grow items to nurture future leaders.
Four Volunteer Activation Zones as above, with five ticket types to choose from and four Timeslots of 90-minutes allow enough time to enter and exit the Zone and spend 67-minutes in service.

Hands-On Hero Event Individual Ticket Price:
R300 Adults and R200 Students/Pensioners
Hands-On Event GROUP ticket costs: Range from R700 per person, which depending on package include add-ons such as: Zone Reserved seating; Corporate Club meal; Branding; CSI preschool-pairing and Motivational talks from our founder and CEO, Danny Diliberto.
‘Create Your Own’ Team-building Event anywhere in SA: R400 per kit with a minimum of 10 kits per order. Choose between Create or Craft CYO Hands-On Hero Kits, and we will deliver to your event address and collect afterwards for redistribution to preschools.
