Emily’s Restaurant, nestling next to a river close to the beaches of Plettenberg Bay, is situated in one of the most breathtaking spots in all of South Africa overlooking the meandering river and beautiful wetlands. Emily’s restaurant is a place to enjoy delicious food and relax surrounded by the exquisite beauty that is Africa.

The restaurant Emily’s exudes the essence, spirit and mystery of Africa with Beautiful collectors items in every hue, texture and shape adorning every nook and cranny. Kelims , Persian, Nguni skins  carved mermaids, Samburu spears,  sculptures, old framed photographs, maps paintings, fabulous pieces of furniture are just a sample of the many pieces from this and other continents.

Our General Manager and his welcoming and friendly team have set a standard of excellence in the restaurant Emily’s and Jana our chef extraordinaire makes simple food look and taste great and everything is fresh on her daily changing menu.   Should your function require sole use of the restaurant this could be discussed.

A large deck overlooking the river for sundowners and cocktails where guests can watch the beautiful sun sets with the carved Ethiopian day bed in front of the log fire being a popular choice.

On cold winter evenings, dine next to a glowing log fire and afterwards enjoy a decadent Irish coffee in the warm romantic ambience that is characteristic of the atmosphere at Emily’s.

Weddings / Functions

If you dream of a wedding in the most beautiful, soulful setting with glimmering waters and meandering rivers, then Emily’s is the perfect setting for you to make your fairytale occasion come to life.

Set in the tranquil garden setting overlooking the winding Bitou River at Emily Moon River Lodge is an exceptionally beautiful multi-purpose venue for Seminars, large and small, launches of product, exhibitions from art to consumer products, theatrical productions and be transformed into an ethereal room with warm ambience for a wedding service.  There are two fireplaces for the more chilly weather and in summer all doors can be opened to embrace the cameo views of the river and garden.

There is seating for 120 delegates/guests and all technical items such as sound, screen, Wi Fi, Flip Chart are provided and should you require extra equipment this can be hired in for the day.   Catering is done in house and we will provide arrival coffee and tea, all break away snacks, lunch and dinner can be had in the restaurant.
