Zimbali Lodge recently introduced Eleven Tribes, a bold new dining experience that brings South Africa’s eleven official languages, and the cultures they represent to life through food, ritual and shared hospitality.

Guests are welcomed by the ceremonial Flame of Welcome. Each course on the menu honours a distinct culinary legacy, drawing inspiration from ancestral traditions, indigenous ingredients and the diverse landscapes that shape the country’s food culture.

In the kitchen, ancient techniques meet contemporary creativity. Locally sourced produce, heritage grains and time-honoured methods are reimagined with intention, resulting in dishes that are both expressive and soulful. Every plate tells a story of migration, ritual and celebration, and plated with purpose.
